A first collection, rooted in origin.

The starting point

BORN’s first cue collection explores Indonesian heritage through a contemporary product language. The concept begins with Batang Garing, the Tree of Life in Dayak Ngaju belief, and its associations with origin, connection and continuity.

I translated the reference into a visual system built around a central axis, directional forms and repetition. The design follows the proportions of the cue, with ornament concentrated on the butt sleeve, forearm and rings.

Three expressions

The collection takes the names Sangiang, Sangen and Bunu from the cultural narrative explored in the project. Each cue gives the shared system a different direction, material palette and character.
